Serena Williams Apologizes for US Open Behavior

A profanity-laced tirade by Serena Williams directed at a US Open Line judge on Saturday evening cost the tennis star not just the match, but also a chance at making it to the finals and a $10,000 fine. An investigation is also under way to determine if there should be additional punishment. On Sunday she issued a statement to the press, and on Monday she posted her apologies on both Twitter and her blog.
On Twiter, Serena wrote:
"I want to sincerely apologize FIRST to the lines woman, Kim Clijsterst, USTA & mostly tennis fans everywhere. Thank you all for your support."
She posted a lengthier apology on her blog:
"Hey guys!!!
I want to amend my press statement of yesterday, and want to make it clear as possible - I want to sincerely apologize FIRST to the lines woman, the USTA, and mostly tennis fans everywhere for my inappropriate outburst. I'm a woman of great pride, faith and integrity, and I admit when I'm wrong.
I need to make it clear to all young people that I handled myself inappropriately and it's not the way to act — win or lose, good call or bad call in any sport, in any manner.
I like to lead by example. We all learn from experiences both good and bad, I will learn and grow from this, and be a better person as a result."
If you missed out on the controversy, we'll get you up to speed. Just two points away from losing in the second set, defending champ Williams faulted at 5-6, 15-30. On her second serve, the judge called a foot fault, making it 15-40, giving Clijsters a match point. When this occurred, Williams began berating the line judge, which only resulted in a penalty point being awarded to Clijsters. Because this happened on a match point, Clijsters won.

Serena Conduct during the semi finals
First of all I would like to say by no means was Serena Conduct professional in any manner....I do understand how she felt...She gets all the way to the semi finals and already down a break point when the lines persons calls a foot fault, which was not a foot fault...if you look at the play back...there is a check for 1.6million on the line and this lines person calls a bogus foot fault...how would you feel. if the fans have notice....the lines person and chair persons have now began to pick on Venus and Serena about foot faults...i guess when you don't have anything thing else to pick on a person about you find something.....
if the fans can remember.....when Venus was playing she stop and ask the chair person "what foot was it my left or right.l I will put my paycheck on the line that chair persons and line persons who keeps calling foot fault on the Williams Sistes have been taliking behind close doors. if you know what i mean...
