Cuyahoga County Voters Approve Health & Human Services Tax Issue
On Tuesday, Cuyahoga County voters continued to show their support for health and human services in the county by renewing a tax issue on the ballot. According to unofficial results, voters approved Issue 15 with 68 percent of the vote.
Passage of Issue 15 will protect initiatives including support for the elderly, health care for the needy, pre-kindergarten programs, and child protective services. The four-year tax will raise $137 million annually.
Cuyahoga County voters generally have embraced the county's two human service taxes, and have rejected just once since the first one appeared on the ballot in 1976.
