Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, remains the most expensive public college in Ohio. Trustees approved new tuition and fees for the 2012-13 school year which will raise tuition for Ohio undergraduates by $442, bringing the total up to just over $13,000 for the year.
Undergraduates attending the school who are residents of other states will pay $28,000 per year.
Miami defends the tuition, pointing to a survey by Smart Money magazine that ranked Miami No. 9 in the country for return on a student's tuition investment. The college also boasts an average time to graduation of fewer than four years.
