Cleveland is Getting New Alt Rock Radio Station 99x

Ever since CBS Radio changed WKRK-FM to the all-sports "92.3 The Fan" last Summer, Cleveland has been down a rock station. There is good news to report on the rock radio front, however. It appears that Cleveland is getting a new alt-rock station with the launch of "99X, Cleveland's New Rock Alternative" via HD Radio and a translator.

The station is also on Clear Channel's iHeartRadio. The new station's splash page featuring identification from Clear Channel's rock WMMS (100.7) is now live on the web.

Translator W259BI applied for its license to broadcast on Monday, with its signal originating form the tower of the Clear Channel owned WMJI/105.7 in Parma. It will operate with 250 watts at 238 meters.
