Browns Deny Report that the Team is for Sale

Philadelphia radio personality Howard Eskin posted on his Twitter page earlier this week that former Eagles president Joe Banner is putting together a group to buy the Buffalo Bills, and commented that the Cleveland Browns and St. Louis Rams may also be for same. A spokesman for the Cleveland Browns has since responded to and denied the report.

Neal Gulkis, the Browns' vice president of media relations, said simply:

"The Browns are not for sale."

The Lerner family has owned the Browns since 1999. Randy Lerner inherited te Browns in 2002 after the death of his father, Al Lerner. Randy Lerner also owns the Aston Villa soccer club in England.
