Mitt Romney Tops President Obama and Democrats Fundraising Efforts

For the second straight month, Mitt Romney and the Republicans have raised more money than incumbent President Barack Obama and the Democratic Party, increasing Democratic concerns that they will be outspent in the final stretch of the 2012 presidential election.

The Obama campaign, the president's re-election team, and the Democratic National Convention raised over $75 million in July from 761,000 people, including 201,000 new donors who did not give him any money in either 2008 or 2012.

Romney and the Republican National Convention raised $101.3 million and have $185 million in cash on hand. The month of July marked the second straight month that Romney and the GOP made the nine figure mark. In June, Romney raised $106 million to Obama's $71 million.
