2007 Northeast Ohio Race for the Cure

The 25th annual Komen Northeast Ohio Race for the Cure is set for Saturday. 25,000 participants are expected downtown as they raise money to raise funds and promote awareness against breast cancer. The event expects to raise $2,000,000 dollars this year.

2007 Komen Northeast Ohio Race for the Cure is sponsored by University Hospitals Ireland Cancer Center, in downtown Cleveland.

It is not too late to register.The donation is $30 to enter the race. Here is more information on how to register:

With the big event, some downtown streets will be closed. If you are planning on heading downtown Saturday here is the info on the location of the race and what roads will be closed:

Street Closings

* September 15 - Shoreway will close at 8:00 a.m.
* September 15 - Lakeside between Ontario and E.9th will close at 6:00 a.m.

Directions to Cleveland Mall

Malls B & C of the Cleveland Mall are located in downtown Cleveland, between Ontario and East 6th Streets, and between Lakeside Avenue and St. Clair Avenue.

From the South
I-71 North or I-77 North to the Ontario Street or the East 9th Street exit and head North toward the Lake.

From the East
Take I-90 West to Route 2 West and exit at the East 9th Street or West 3rd Street exit.

From the West
Take I-90 East to the West 6th Street or the East 9th Street exit.
