ABC Wants Paula Abdul for "Dancing With The Stars"

Paula Abdul won't be back for the upcoming season of "American Idol" after she and the show's producers were unable to come to a salary agreement, however, she may not be without a job for very long. ABC's programming boss Stephen McPherson said that he would love to bring her over to his network for another hit reality show, "Dancing With The Stars".
When asked if he hopes to bring Abdul over to ABC, he said:
Mike Tyson to Guest Star in "Brothers"
This fall, FOX is launching a new half-hour comedy sitcom entitled "Brothers", which is "about a former NFL hot show who learns that even though you can go home again, the trip back might be tougher than you think." Making an appearance in the new television program is former heavyweight boxer Mike Tyson.
In an upcoming episode, Tyson shows up to collect money from Mike (Michael Strahan at his brother's (Daryl Chill Mitchell) restaurant. No word if he threatens to bite his ear off if he doesn't pay up.
"Brothers" will premiere on FOX on Friday, September 25 at 8:00 PM ET/PT.
Kirstie Alley Claims She is Replacing Paula Abdul on American Idol
Yesterday Paula Abdul announced via Twitter that she was leaving "American Idol", which shouldn't really surprise anyone who's been following the gossip rags in recent months. The writing was on the wall - she wanted more money than what the network was willing to offer her and thought that by playing hardball she would get them to cave and give into her demands. She found out, however, just how expendable she really is. Simon Cowell and Ryan Seacrst really integral to the show's success; the rest of the judges - including Paula - can easily be swapped out and changed up, especially when ratings are down and the network needs something to spice things up.
After Adbul announced her departure from the hit FOX show, another celebrity took to Twitter to make an announcement of her own. Kirstie Alley tweeted that she was replacing Paula on American Idol.
She wrote:
WANTED TO ANNOUNCE FIRST ON TWITTER...that I AM REPLACING PAULA ABDUL ON IDOL!!!!!!!!! THe network will kill me but THERE IT IS FOLKS!!
Followed by:
DEAD SERIOUS! I AM REPLACING PAULA ON IDOL..CAN'T WAIT TO F SIMON UP...BEEN WORKING ON IT FOR MONTHS!
Police State?
An article I wrote for The Daily Beast regarding the brouhaha surrounding the arrest of Harvard professor Skip Gates snagged me an appearance on the Today Show last month… most likely my first and last appearance on that program. It wasn’t that I flubbed any lines or busted any verbs — I’m a pretty fair speaker and know the King’s English — it was what I said that will most likely preclude me from having another 15 seconds of fame.
The offer was originally extended because I’d somewhat taken Gates to task for mouthing off to an armed intruder in his home; sure, the guy also had a badge and a uniform, but he indeed was armed, and he certainly wasn’t invited — which makes him an intruder. To me, and most other blacks with any street smarts, the wise thing to do in this situation is get this dude out of your house with as little drama as possible. You don’t talk about his momma; guns can somehow go off in those kinds of tense confrontations, and guess whose version of the event will be believed in court? Even if a tinge of racism is detected in the officer’s tone or demeanor, that’s an issue that should be taken up with his superiors in the relative safety of the police station — not mano a mano inside a house with no witnesses.
Former Cast Members Say "Sopranos" Has a Shot at Being Made into Film

Ever since the "Sopranos" stopped airing in 2007, many fans have been holding out hope that one day it could be revived in the form of a big screen movie, a la "Sex and the City". Producer David Chase has remained coy about such a possibility since the show's demise, however cast members have already let it slip, suggesting that a script is already on the page.
The rumor to date has been that James Gandolfini, who plays mafia boss Tony Soprano in the series, has been reluctant to sign on for the big-screen version. However Lorraine Bracco, Tony's psychiatrist Dr. Jennifer Melfi on the show, says that the rumor is far off the mark.
Rather, she says:
"I don't think it's that at all. I think it's really trying to get the right script. Without the right script, it's really not worth doing."
Bracco added,
"We've all talked to David to give him a kick in the booty to get it right.
On Monday HBO shot down rumors of the existence of a script, however, Steve Van Zandt ( who plays Silvio Dante, one of Tony's colleagues on the show) added fuel to the fire. He let it slip to a Belfast newspaper that his character, who was struggling for his life in the show's ending, is still alive.

Mischa Barton Goes Back to Work, Friends Say it is Too Soon
Mischa Barton was placed under involuntary psychiatric care at LA's Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on July 15 after a reported breakdown that followed a three-day cocaine binge. She was a few days later, and arrived in New York late Tuesday evening to begin filming her new CW drama, "The Beautiful Life." The show's producers are confident that Barton will be able to handle being back on the job, but her friends aren't quite as sure.
A friend of the actress said:
“Mischa needs more aggressive treatment over a long period of time. It’s only been a matter of days since she was released from the hospital, and I think she definitely wasn’t there long enough. She needs to be very cautious — she’s at a very big risk. I personally think it’s a bad idea to go back this quickly, given her past history with substance abuse.”
The role she plays in the new show isn't likely to help matters either. Mischa will be playing an aging supermodel with a drug problem, which some of her friends find questionable given her meltdown and history with substance abuse.
But, not all her friends thing going back to work is such a bad idea. Another insider believes that this is exactly what she needs to get her life back on track:
