DVD Review: How to Lose Friends and Alienate People

If you liked The Devil Wears Prada, you will want to see How to Lose Friends and Alienate People. About halfway through the enjoyable film I decided to check out what other critics were saying about the movie, and to my surprise, I found out that it had a relatively low rating from Rotten Tomatoes, which gives a consensus judgment on films. Then I realized why. The film, which portrays a struggling writer who has to basically sell out in order to find success as a writer, probably depicted too many of the journalists who probably didn't enjoy seeing their life story on the big screen for all to see.
The movie is based on a book by Toby Young by the same name as the film. Loosely based on Young's time at Vanity Fair, the movie will be a delight to anyone who wants to find out how big glossy magazines work and how stars are made. Simon Pegg plays Young who is a portrays unrefined writer who wants to turn the industry on its head by breaking all the rules. Young finds out that New York may not be as well receiving as he hopes, but finds Alison Olsen (Kirsten Dunst) to become his friend and ally in the office. When Allison goes back to her boyfriend, Toby decides to change his rebellious ways and finds great success as a journalist.

Peter Gabriel was slated to perform at the Oscars ceremony, but has now pulled out after organizers shortened his time on the stage to just 65 seconds. The Academy Award nominated singer posted a video on his websiite in which he says he had hoped to perform the complete version of Down to Earth.
Down to Earth is featured in Wall-E, and Thomas Newman was nominated along with Gabriel.
"It's a bit unfortunate," said Gabriel, who added that he's a bit of "an old far" that could afford to "make a little protest."
LiLo Moves Out on Sam, Then Lands an Acting Gig in Remake of Nightmare on Elm Street

Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson will no longer be cohabiting. Lindsay recently moved out on Sam to concentrate on her career which has been in a downward spiral of late... until now. The change of scenery must of done wonders for LiLo as she has landed the starring role in the upcoming remake of classic horror flick Nightmare of Elm Street. The National Enquirer:
Lindsay Lohan actually gets a job as femme lead in the new horror remake Nightmare of Elm Street.
Horror bogeyman Freddy Krueger will get the chance to carve up the troubled rehab-busting Lohan, producer Jason Weinberg told media appropriately enough on Friday the 13th.
The movie is being produced by the combo who brought the remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre a few years back. While I enjoyed the remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre , I have a bad feeling about the reworked version of the classic mid 80's film

Bonnie-Gate: Hilary Duff Fires Insult Back at Faye Dunaway
Faye Dunaway has been openly critical of the selection of Hilary Duff in the remake of 1967's "Bonnie and Clyde". Dunaway , who starred alongside Warren Beatty, in the landmark film said of the former teen idol being cast as the new age Bonnie:
"Couldn't they at least cast a real actress?"
The remark must have gotten back to Duff who fired back:
"I think that my fans that are going to go see the movie don't even know who she is," talking about Dunaway, "I think it was a little unnecessary, but I might be mad if I looked like that now, too."
Round 1 to Hilary 10-9.
Audio of Christian Bale's Tirade on Set of Terminator 4

If you ever bump into Christian Bale here are some words of advice. Stay on the actors good side. Bale recently went basaltic on the set of Terminator 4 where he lashed out on someone on the set for over 4 minutes.
Bale starts the tirade by declaring:
"I'm trying to do a fking scene here and I'm going, 'Why the fk is Shane walking in there? What's he doing there?' Do you understand my mind is not in the scene if you're doing that?"
And that, folks, is just the beginning. For the entire audio watch this clip from Youtube. Keep in mind that Bale uses profanity in the following soundbite:
