Keith Richard's Gun Exploits Detailed in New Book by Bandmate

Keith Richards pulled a gun his bandmate Ronnie Wood according to a new book that will hit stores later this month. 'Ronnie Wood: The Autobiography', penned by the the veteran rocker, says the Richards became angered that Wood was freebasing cocaine when the incident transpired. Wood writes:
"After a row with Keith one day, he stormed off to get his gun. I warned everyone to clear the decks.
"Keith came back with his Derringer, pointed it at me and yelled, 'You f---ing b------ Woody!' But I had my own gun, a .44 Magnum.
Knowing Keith's enormous drug intake was he mad that Wood wasn't sharing?
Ryan Adams Melts Down on Stage in Minneapolis

Bad sound or meltdown? Ryan Adams, the alternative rock star, was booed after throwing a tantrum on stage last night. The singer/songwriter reportedly didn't like the sound quality at the State Theater. Fans didn't take too kindly to the 33 year old acting like a spoiled kid. The fans booed him when he refused to play an encore. This isn't the first time that Adams blew up on stage. Adams must have a problem with the people of Minneapolis as in 2003 he blamed the sound system for a poor performance and had a meltdown on stage in that performance as well.
Liam Gallagher Has Newfound Respect for Blur's Damon Albarn

The world must of turned upside down. Yesterday, after years of disharmony, Van Halen played their first live show with frontman David Lee Roth on stage. And now, Oasis lead singer Liam Gallagher says he actually likes Blur's Damon Albarn. The two bands had been at each others throats for a decade, but now it seems that they are seem to have taken the song "Give Peace a chance" to heart.
"I don't mind Blur," Gallagher told Mojo Magazine. "I'm over it [the rivalry]. It was a laugh man, that's what you do when you're young."
He added: "When I see Damon Albarn, I buzz off him. If I was still caught up in it now I'd be a right wanker."
Earlier in the year Liam's older brother, who once said publicly he wanted Blur's Damon Albarn and Alex James to "Catch AIDS and die", even offered an olive branch to Alburn saying:
Van Halen Kicks off Long Awaited Tour

Eddie Van Halen and David Lee Roth were on stage together after years of rumors and false starts. Just like old times, the band delivered a stellar performance. “Eruption,” “Ain’t Talkin’ ‘Bout Love,” and “Jump” were among the 20 plus songs they played in a 2 hour plus concert last night in Charlotte. No fisticuffs between the lead singer and the famous guitarist made the night go down without a hitch. A sellout crowd of 18,000 saw the band, touring with their original lead singer for the first time since the '1984' tour, pull off a great comeback.
Van Halen makes their way to Cleveland on October 10th, and judging from the reviews of last nights show it is a can't miss show if you are a fan of the band.

Pete Meets the Beatle

Pete Doherty and Paul McCartney met yesterday for the first time. Paul, of course is known for writing some of the best music of all-time as a Beatle and a solo artist. Pete, is known for throwing his career away and taking (perhaps) more drugs in the history of UK rock music. A source told UK's the Daily Mirror what went down when Pete interviewed The Beatles legend for a piece in the Observer Music Monthly:
"He was overwhelmed by meeting Macca. They had a real heart to heart - at times it was like a father talking to his son.
"Pete promised Paul he was serious about getting clean, was through with the drugs, and said he never wanted to fall back into his dark days again.
"They spoke about everything from music, other singers and even touched on the subject of women - but that was strictly between the two of them."
Late Beatle George Harrison to be Featured in Scorsese Documentary

While George Harrison may have played second fiddle in The Beatles to John Lennon and Paul McCartney, he will get first class treatment when his life story is told in a documentary that will be directed by renowned director Martin Scorsese.
"Harrison's music and his search for spiritual meaning is a story that still resonates today and I'm looking forward to delving deeper," Scorsese said in a statement
Harrison's widow issued a statement saying:
"It would have given George great joy to know that Martin Scorsese has agreed to tell his story."
Harrison isn't the only Beatle to have his life story told on the Silver Screen. John Lennon's life was a featured documentary that came to screens in 1988. If Scorsese's look into the life of Harrison is even a fraction as good as that film, Beatles fans will be in for a treat.
Britney Spears' Career Over? Not According to iTunes Sales of Her New Single

Maybe Britney Spears isn't finished after all. Her new single "Gimme More" had a solid week of sales on iTunes. The song was the third most downloaded song last week on Apple's popular music downloading service while it was the most popular track downloaded as a ringtone. The song is 18th on the 'Radio & Records Top 40 National Airplay Chart' in its third week in release. Now, if she can only do something about that image problem....

'Madonna At 50' World Tour Coming to a Venue Near You?

The New York Post has reported that Madonna is planning a world tour for her big five-oh birthday party. The tour is rumored to be dubbed as 'Madonna At 50'. How original. Madonna last toured last year 'Confessions' tour. With the news of the tour, can news of a new album be far off? Maybe not.
There are reports that she is leaving her record label because she can make more money on the road. She is set to sign a deal with Live Nation for $100 Million and leave Warner Music who she has been with for a quarter century.
Ireland Online had a quote from a a senior music industry source who stated:
"This is a sign of the times. At this stage in her career Madonna realises she stands to make more money from touring - $260m (€184.25m) on her last tour - than releasing records. So she wants to go with a company that can look after both rather than being tied to a record company."
Finally! Competition in the Digital Download Market

Watch out iTunes, Amazon has come gunning for you. Amazon launched their digital music store. What is best about the new service is that it is finally a big enough competitor to digital download giant iTunes. Now, maybe consumers can have a music price war instead of shelling out the .99 Cents per song without much of a discount on albums.
Browsing through Amazon's store was seamless and easy. Tracks download in Mp3 format so they will be able to be played on any player including iPods. A downside is that not all labels are signed on to the Amazon MP3 but the selection from EMI and Universal is far from sparse. The collection boasts over 2 Million songs for nearly 200,000 artists ranging from Pink Floyd to Radiohead. Speaking of Pink Floyd, the price on the complete album of 'The Wall is only $8.99. That is a great deal and I am sure there are many more out there to be had.
