Cavs Guard Delonte West Arrested on Weapons Charges
Cleveland Cavaliers guard Delonte West is in trouble with the law. The 26 year old was pulled over for speeding on his motorcycle and when officers searched the player and the vehicle they found multiple loaded weapons. West is said to be carrying while carrying two loaded handguns and a loaded shotgun in a guitar case.
Cavs management commented in a press release saying:
"We have been in communication with Delonte and his family,'' GM Danny Ferry said in a written statement. "We are gathering more information and will not have further comment until the appropriate time.''
LeBron James Book Signing Announced at Westlake Borders on September 18th

As you are probably aware, Cleveland Cavaliers megastar LeBron James has released a book to coincide with his movie that hits theaters next month. To mark the occasion, the Akron native will be signing his book Shooting Stars.at The Borders in Westlake on September 18th.
Here is the info that you need to know if you plan on seeing King James in Westlake:
A Little Bored Lately

I have been really bored with the Cleveland sports scene lately. Granted, the NFL season has yet to start up and the Cavs are still two months away, but I have been bored to tears recently.
There are no interesting rumors going around town about the Browns. Talk Radio shows are filled with the great Quinn/Anderson debate of 2009 which is so bland I often drift off behind the wheel of my car. Mangini's Mystery Machine is even racking up a lot of mileage lately as he does not discuss injuries and often gives uninformative answers. To entertain myself, I often wonder if he's doing this to throw off the scent of various Pittsburgh Steelers representatives that surely must be following each of his words with bated breath to get any type of edge on the Browns. Besides, as we've seen over the past ten years, the reason the Steelers have owned the Browns has been their ability to keep secrets, and that the discrepancies in talent take a back seat to an aura of mystery.
LeBron James Hints at Staying in Cleveland In Latest Interview

Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James gave a lengthy interview to Tom Withers of the AP that was just published on Yahoo News. The most hopeful bit in the article entitled "LeBron Rides Towards Free Agency" is when the Akron native states:
“I’m excited about the upcoming season and I have never given any indication that I’m leaving Cleveland,” he said. “I’ve been happy with what the franchise has done for me and my family. It’s been great. Hopefully everything goes right and hopefully I can sign a big contract to stay in Cleveland.”
Might he sign a smaller one to stay?
“That’s possible,” he said. “We’ll see.”

LeBron James Sat Down to Share Thoughts on ESPN's Sunday Conversation

LeBron James sat down for an interview this weekend with ESPN's Rachel Nichols. Among the topics King James and the ESPN reporter discussed were high school sports superstars, Shaq, his support of Barack Obama in the 2008 election, and the Cleveland Cavaliers chances of bringing home a title next season.
Here is what he had to say:
Cavs Off-Season Review

With 2 weeks left in August, the Cleveland Cavaliers appear to have their 2009-2010 roster set. Danny Ferry did a masterful job this summer improving the team. And make no mistake, the goal was not to make a huge splash or to preserve cap room for some mythical spending spree in 2010 (which likely won’t even materialize, but whatever). The goal was to make the team better; to reload for another run at a championship. If you don’t think Ferry did that, consider the following.
Cleveland Cavaliers Sign Free Agent Rob Kurz to One-Year Deal
The Cleveland Cavaliers have made another off-season move, signing free agent forward Rob Kurz to a one-year, non-guaranteed contract worth $736,000. With an addition like Kurz, the Cavs look set to contend this coming 2009-2010 season.
The 6'9" forward got his start in the NBA with the Golden State Warriors last season, where he averaged 3.9 points and 2.0 rebounds. He played 40 games, and started five last season. Most impressive of all was his 40 percent average on three-point shots.
Cleveland Sports Round Table Talks Browns, Indians, Cavs, and Buckeyes

When we started this website in 2006, one of our main goals was to incorporate video into a lot of the stories that we were writing. I actually warned readers to "be on the lookout for Cleveland Leader cameras" but didn't follow through on my initial goal.
Late last year we got back on track with a pilot test run of a webisode of a sports show that we were going to call The Cleveland Leader Sports Round Table. We enjoyed making the little web television program and look forward to bringing back often throughout the year to discuss all things Cleveland sports with our viewers. Our plans also include branching out to live website television sometime in the near future.
Yesterday, we took the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds in Berea to shoot The Sports Round Table. Among the things we discussed were the Cleveland Browns, Indians, Cavaliers, and upcoming Ohio State Buckeyes football season. We would love your feedback on this new venture for the Cleveland Leader and hope you find our discussions entertaining and enjoyable.
Cleveland Cavaliers Sign Former Celtic Leon Powe
It appears as though the Cavaliers are very serious about winning a championship this coming season. In the off season they signed Shaquille O'Neal, and now word is that they've finalized a deal with the 6'8" former Boston Celtic Leow Powe.
Powe is still recovering from a torn ACL, and won't be able to play until the All-Star break, but that's not stopping the Cavs. They still want him. According to various sources, Powe is meeting with team doctors Tuesday.
