Lil Wayne is Headed to the Big House

On Thursday morning, rapper Lil Wayne pleaded guilty to attempted possession of a weapon in the second degree. He had previously pleaded not guilty to the charges, and surprised everyone when he decided that it would be in his best interest to plead guilty and take a plea bargain.

The NYPD filed charges against Lil Wayne after finding a .40 caliber handgun on his tour bus in July 2007. After the court ruled that DNA evidence found on the gun was admissible, this is when he changed his mind and took the plea bargain. Had he been found guilty in trial, which was set to begin in January 2010, he faced a three and a half year sentence.

It is expected that Lil Wayne will serve anywhere from eight months to a year in prison. New York is notoriously hard on gun charges, as evidenced by the recent case against Plaxico Burress who received a two year prison sentence last month.

According to TMZ, cops searched his tour bus after smelling marijuana after his show at the Beacon Theatre. As police approached the bus, he allegedly tossed a Louis Vuitton bag with the gun inside.

Steve Phillips' Caught in Another Sex Scandal, This Time at ESPN

Steve Phillips, the former general manager of the New York Mets who admitted to having sex with a team employee and was sued for sexual harrassment, apparently has not learned his lesson. Now an analyst for ESPN, Phillips is embroiled in yet another sex scandal after admitting to having an affair with an assistant who stalked his wife.

When Phillips dumped 22-year-old production assistant Brooke Hundley, she reportedly made repeated phone calls to his wife, Marni, saying things like "We both can't have him." She is also said to have written his wife a graphic letter describing their relationship.

In a statement to police, Phillips said:

“I have extreme concerns about the health and safety of my kids and myself."

Phillips said that the affair with Hundley occured this past summer, and that he told his wife and police about it. Marni is also reported to have told police that she received "harrassing phone calls and text messages" from a woman claiming to have information about her husband.

Phillips is being sued for divorce by his wife. The couple have four sons together.

Josh Krulewitz, a spokesman for ESPN said:

Comcast Subscribers to Get Cable TV Channels Online for Free

Comcast Corp. will be the first cable TV operator in the US to unlock online access to a great lineup of valuable cable shows and movies, in an attempt to replicate what's available on television through video on demand. By the end of the year, subscribers will be able to watch popular shows such as AMC's "Mad Men" and HBO's "Entourage" online without paying extra through the "On Demand Online" service.

Other cable companies, including Time Warner Cable Inc., plan to follow in their footsteps.

Access to the online content will be very carefully guarded. At first, Comcast subscribers will only be able to watch the shows and movies on their home computers after being verified by the cable system. It will also be restricted to only those customers who also get their Internet service through Comcast, and not through a phone company or other competitor.

Realizing that this is quite a few hoops to jump through in order to watch content online, Comcast is also working on providing access over competing home broadband systems and well as on the go.

The cable networks themselves, such as HBO, will decide how much they will put online. Some may only put up the current season's episodes, while others could also include archives of past seasons.

'Real Housewives of New York' Star Bethenny Frankel Confirms She is Pregnant

The rumors are true. Despite denials from her camp on Monday, Bethenny Frankel confirmed on Tuesday that she is about two months along.

Speaking with People.com, Frankel said:

"It's premature to be telling people this. It's not like, ‘Did I Get Botox?' It's not the way I wanted it to get out," she told People. "I haven't even gone through my first trimester. We haven't even heard the heartbeat. My [fiance's]parents didn't even know."

Frankel says she was forced into revealing the news after a post on PerezHilton.com on Monday spilled the beans.

The reality TV star is currently engaged to Jason Hoppy. She said that they are both "so excited" about the baby and are pretty surprised that they were able to conceive so quickly given their ages:

"I got to be honest, we are both feeling kind of proud of ourselves," she said. "We are both 38 and we were like, ‘Listen, your fish can swim and I am fertile.' So that's exciting."

The couple plans to wed before the baby is born.

Frankel recently announced her own spin-off show which will air on Bravo entitled "Skinny & the City". It will follow her and Hoppy as they plan their wedding. The PerezHilton.com source said:

Fab Four Flop on Video Game Charts

The Beatles couldn't get even get by with a little help from their friends. Sales figures for Beatles Rock Band, which was released to much hype, showed the game shifted 595,000 copies. While that figure may look good, experts were expecting the game to sell at least one million copies.

Analysts are writing of John, Paul, George, and Ringo just yet though. They say that they foresee the game selling well during the holidays.

White House Says Fox News is Neither Fair Nor Balanced

Tell us something we didn't know. Rather than make peace with the conservative-minded network, Barack Obama's White House advisors declined to end their feud with Fox News, and instead decided to fuel the fire on the Sunday talk show circuit.

White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel told rival cable TV news channel CNN's "State of the Union" that Obama considers Fox News "not a news organization so much as it has a perspective." Compared with other news outlets, "that's a different take", Emanuel added.

Another Obama political advisor, David Axelrod, hit up ABC where he told "This Week" that Fox News "is really not news. It's pushing a point of view."

Last week, White House communications director Anita Dunn claimed:

"Fox News often operates almost as either the research arm or the communications arm of the Republican Party."

Fox News, of course, reacted quite strongly to the White House accusations.

Fox News Senior Vice President Michael Clemente said in a statement:

"Surprisingly, the White House continues to declare war on a news organization instead of focusing on the critical issues that Americans are concerned about like jobs, health care and two wars."

Playhouse Square Review: Young Frankenstein

My first exposure to the Broadway debut of the new Mel Brooks musical, Young Frankenstein, was a brief teaser of performance snippets during the Macy’s Day parade in 2007. At the time, I couldn’t help wondering how it would do stacked up against some of the masterpieces of musical comedy I wished would return to touring the U.S. A fan of the movie starring Gene Wilder, I also wasn’t sure how the screenplay humor would translate to the stage performance.

Following the show’s opening at Playhouse Square’s Palace Theatre in downtown Cleveland last Tuesday, I attended the first Saturday night performance yesterday. Turnout was greater than I had expected with the balcony near full by the time the orchestra was warmed up and the houselights had dimmed. The stage was blanketed in a blue screen featuring a glowing moon and spooky, mist-wrapped mountain with a winding path leading up to a great castle overlooking a small town. With a burst of lighting and thunder, the show was quickly underway.

Balloon Boy Family Could Face Criminal Charges

The sheriff's department and child protection services are taking a much closer look at the Heenes family after their six-year-old son said that they had pulled the now-infamous balloon stunt "for a show."

At a press conference Saturday morning, Sheriff Jim Alderen said:

"I would say this not a typical American family. They engeage in behaviors a lot of us don't. Obviously, it's very different family dynamics than most of us experience."

The 6-year-old was interviewed on television, and said that he had stayed in hiding because he thought they were "doing this for a show." This remark has raised quite a bit of interest and gives some creedence to the possibility of the entire thing being a hoax.

Alderen continued:

"We want to reinterview them, clarify that, and put that to rest."

If it turns out that the balloon incident was in fact a hoax, Alderen assures that justice will be sought:

"If this turns out to be a false report, we certainly would seek criminal restitution. But we would have to be convinced, and it would have to be proven in court, not just based on speculation."

"If this is determined to be a hoax, the only thing we really have is making a false report to authorities, which is a misdemeanor."

Coming Soon: Guns N' Roses for Babies

Guns N' Roses rock classics have now been made suitable for young children. The "Rockabye Baby" album franchise has turned the band's classic songs into lullabies, replacing Slash's guitar solos and Axl Rose's screeching vocals with harms, bells and xylophones.

Some of the tracks featured on the new album include "Sweet Child O' Mine" and "Welcome to the Jungle". It will be released on November 10, 2009.

Rockabye Baby has also converted songs by the Beatles, Queen, Bob Marley, AC/DC, and more.

Holyfield Forgives Tyson for Biting His Ear

Former heavyweight boxing champ Evander Holyfield has forgiven his rival, Mike Tyson, who bit his ear in their 1997 title fight. The two made-up on Friday during an appearance on "The Oprah Winfrey Show."

When asked if he was still missing part of his ear, Holyfield pointed and said, "Just a little bit." Tyson poured on the praise, stating:

"This is a beautiful guy," he said, holding Holyfield's arm. "I just want you to know it's been a pleasure passing through life, being acquainted with you."

Tyson shocked the world on June 28, 1997 during the match at MGM Grand in Las Vegas, where he bit Holyfield's ear twice, and was subsequently disqualified. At the time, Tyson said he "snapped" and issued an apology to his fans and disfigured rival. He said he would seek professional help to understand what happened.

Tyson told Oprah that he was not being sincere when he apologized a dozen years ago. Holyfield didn't seem to care. He said that he wanted to be with Tyson on TV to show kids caught up in violence that reconciliation is possible.

Holyfield said, "We can come together. We know you can come together."
